September was a busy month for Waldo County Democrats, even without a regular monthly meeting! We held our annual End-of-Summer Picnic at Gesner Park in Monroe on September 9. We had a terrific turnout, wonderful food, and a great time catching up with everyone. A big thank-you to everyone who helped out, with special thanks to Paul Robie, Reeves Gilmore and Joe Isgro, and to Victoria Olson and her ukulele for the singalong!

On September 19 local Dems got together on Zoom to talk about the Maine Democratic Party Platform. The discussion with our elected members of the statewide Platform Committee — Mary Greenier, Josh Goldstein and Sue Conard – was a great opportunity to consider ways to make the platform more meaningful to everyday Democrats. You can read the current Platform here.
News junkies and trivia buffs among us fielded a team in Maine Public’s News & Brews Trivia Night on September 21 at Marshalls Wharf Brewing in Belfast. Our team scored 38 points, just a few short of the winning team! Thank you to Alan Cohen for organizing the team.
